2026-2027 FAFSA Application Enrollment Period Open
11/1/2025 - 6/30/2026
The FAFSA Application Enrollment Period for the 2026 - 2027 school year is now opened for college students in Tennessee. The enrollment period is from 10/1/2025 - 6/30/2026. Financial aid is then applied for the 2026 - 2027 academic school year. Statewide, the application submission event is called the TN FAFSA Frenzy. To begin your college financial aid application, youth should visit www.fafsa.gov.

Tennessee Lawyer Alerts of Dire Need for Transitional Housing for Youth

Stacie O’Donnell, a child welfare attorney in Tennessee, emphasizes the critical need for transitional housing with mental health services for youth aging out of foster care in the State of Tennessee. O’Donnell reiterates that while Department of Children Services’ social workers diligently care for youth in State custody, the social workers cannot perform psychological evaluations. Applicants to Path Haven may be recommended for psych evaluations to ensure youth receive effective care and treatment while in occupancy. Psychological evaluations are provided by a licensed psychologist.
Tennessee Promise Scholarship

High school seniors should apply for the Tennessee Promise Scholarship. The scholarship offers youth two years of free tuition at a Tennessee State college. The last day to apply is November 3rd, 2025.

Path Haven and Nova Cafe Support Local Food Drives during the Government Shutdown

During the SNAP Disruption of November 2025, Path Haven and Nova Cafe will provide meals to local food drive organizers and agencies in Nashville and Spring Hill, Tennessee.
In September 2025, members of the United States Congress disagreed on the upcoming annual federal budget. Therefore, federal government operations shut down in October 2025 until a budget agreement is met. All US federal programs, including Supplementary Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, our military defense, federal parks, Social Security and many other federal programs, have paused or reduced capacity until Congress agrees on a budget. The impasse has now lasted 35 days (as of 11/4/2025). Across the country, State and local agencies, churches, businesses and individuals rally to support families facing food insecurity during the federal budget shutdown crisis. Path Haven and Nova Cafe joined the efforts of FeedTN to support local food drives in Middle Tennessee.

Presidential Executive Order for Foster Care

Today at the White House, President Donald Trump and Melania Trump signed an Executive Order to release Federal funding for foster kids and youth aging out of foster care. Agencies, nonprofits, ministries and businesses that support foster children across the United States will also receive support to provide services to foster kids and youth aging out of foster care.
Path Haven Donates Food to The Well Outreach

Path Haven donated food items to The Well Outreach in Spring Hill for youth and Tennesseans experiencing food insecurity from the Federal Government shutdown. The Well is a food pantry that provides free, perishable and non-perishable food items to local residents. The Well aims to nourish physically, mentally and spiritually.

Path Haven Reaches Across the United States

From our September 2025 website launch to this November 2025, news about Path Haven have spread across the nation, reaching 16 States with thousands of website views. With the help of our website, social media platforms, advertisements, etc., individuals and businesses learned about Path Haven’s mission, work, impact and goals. Path Haven will continue being a beacon for youth aging out of foster care. While dark gray regions in the map indicate where Path Haven has reached, light gray regions indicate States where Path Haven will reach soon.
Path Haven Donates Food to GraceWorks

Such a wonderful time today donating food items to GraceWorks Ministries in Franklin, TN. GraceWorks includes a thrift store, financial assistance and a free food pantry. The nonprofit supports our youth aging out of foster care with reducing day-to-day costs. Path Haven continues to support youth and Tennesseans who are presently experiencing food insecurity across the Middle Tennessee region.
67,000 High School Seniors Apply for the Tennessee Promise Scholarship

Tennessee’s Higher Education Commission (THEC) reported the highest levels of application submissions on record for the Tennessee Promise Scholarship. More than 67,000 graduating high school students applied for the scholarship before its November 3rd, 2025 deadline.

The Power Youth Job Search Portal

The Metropolitan Action Commission (MAC) of Nashville and Davidson counties will launch the Power Youth Job Search Portal on February 9th, 2026. Youth in Tennessee ages 14-24 will be able to search for job opportunities posted specifically for that age group by employers. Youth at Path Haven are 18-23 years of age and will, therefore, have access to the job search portal with help from their Program Coordinators.
