The Employment Independency Program
Youth selecting the Employment Independency Program (EIP) at Path Haven seek to enter the workforce while leasing local residential apartments. Employment retained may be full-time or part-time. Youth will transition to residing in local apartments that are leased for a minimum of 12 months.
While housed at Path Haven and prior to transitioning to apartment rentals, youth are required to follow house rules, perform chores as instructed, establish a checking account, complete driver’s education, satisfy career assessments and complete five (5) fundamental life skills courses. Courses are free, asynchronous and online, with subjects encompassing college and workforce readiness, dating and marriage, parenting, retirement and farewell arrangements. A certificate for completing each course is awarded to the youth. For lasting community and support, Path Haven will continually engage with transitioned youth through regular communications and correspondences.
